"The government has a certain opinion, has taken a certain stance. There
is no point in talking about prolonging repayment of the national debt", said the government's spokesman Giorgos Petalotis among his comments on vice-president Pagkalos' statements.
Mr. Petalotis clarified categorically that there is no such matter on the table, "emptying out" the vice-president and once more pointing out that Mr. Pagkalos expressed a personal opinion.
Today's briefing was not without incident, however, since Mr. Petalotis was an hour late, which in turn caused a mass departure of political editors and media.
It is not the first time that Mr. Petalotis did not adhere to the traditional briefing time of 13:00 pm.
A little while before the representative arrived at 14:00pm, media editors had decided that they will not wait to attend the briefing, seeing as the government has b downplaying the importance of official reports.
In past reporter statements, it was noted that the delay in the briefing causes serious operational problems to media workers and noon political reports on both television and radio.

When Mr. Petalotis appeared in the briefing room, he only found the Reuters reporter waiting for him, who posed the sole question on whether the former agreed on Pagkalos' views or not.
