Incidents and riot police in the courtroom!

The trial of the individuals prosecuted for connections with the “Cores of Fire” is in recess for today after new tension, accusations and termination of the lawyers by the alleged members of the organization.

The cause of the disruption was the rejection of the defendants’ requests about the non-retention of IDs and the transcription of the trial. Specifically, the second issue was objected to due to high cost.

After this announcement, the defendants said they will insist on their demands being met and will start abstaining from the common meal if the court sticks to its decision.

Among cheers from attendees, the defendants said they were terminating their lawyers and if new ones were appointed by the court, they would move to a hunger strike.

Eventually, the court appointed new defense lawyers and now we await the stance of the defendants tomorrow, when the trial continues.

Major disruption was caused when an attendee of the proceedings said that the trial is being recorded by another member of the audience, but also when the president of the court ordered that a girl that spoke loudly be removed from the courtroom; when police approached her, tens of young men gathered around her, warning the policemen not to touch or push her. The situation quickly got derailed, one side started pushing the other and a squad of riot police appeared, who tried to oust the shouting and pushing young men with their truncheons.

Meanwhile, loud knocks were heard at the door on the side of the detention facilities. The head of the guards entered the room (the members of the court had left the bench due to the tension) and started shouting that the defendants were trying to escape.

Officers rushed to the side of the detention facilities and found that the six defendants had left the detention room and had moved a bit further away. The head of the guard shouted at the officers to take measures to prevent an escape while a lot of tension prevailed in the room. Eventually, the defendants were led back to the detention facilities.
