The anti-smoking legislation is not working

Greeks seem to be ignoring the anti-smoking law continuously, as recent research shows. Reports by citizens about smoking in public places such as government buildings are increasing every day; 15.300 reports have been made, their majority of which were submitted in January.

Most of the reports are for restaurants but unfortunately, Proto Thema has found that in the Public Sector, smokers really put their habit before the common good.

There have been 1.189 reports about smoking in public service buildings. The situation is better in the private sector. However, Proto Thema has in its possession images from a hospital in Athens showing the staff smoking in their offices.
