The government fears social explosions now

Wednesday’s massive protest is under the microscope of the Maximou analysts as they estimate that the social reaction to their politics is entering a new dynamic phase.

«Sometimes I say to them: I too would like to protest with you because I am unhappy with what’s happening. Why should we be in this situation? But protests are not enough. We must change our country. We are determined and I think that the Greek people are determined» the PM said.

But this time he said the government has made 80% of the most difficult decisions, in contrast to what he had said a month earlier, that our country has realized 95% of its obligations and the strict measures stop somewhere around here.

In view of the summits, he sent a message to the European leaders, saying that «our decisions will be of the utmost importance, historical importance for the EU and the Eurozone, as well as for the common currency. And I believe the results will be positive if we succeed in making these decisions, despite them being tough and complex in the difficult world we live in, because things change rapidly in a globalized economy. So, even if these decisions are difficult I truly believe that we have the support of our peoples and will make the euro strong, see that it stays strong and stable, stabilizing our economies and helping Europe become much more competitive throughout the globe».
