Will there be collaborations if we go to early elections?

The issue was raised by president of LAOS George Karatzaferis, who implied that his party might not participate independently but as a collaborator of another party.

The issue was raised by president of LAOS George Karatzaferis, who implied that his party might not participate independently but as a collaborator of another party.

It was a statement with several implications, and possibly more of a firework statement, something Mr.Karatzaferis is accustomed to doing.

If elections are not impending, LAOS will have to merge itself with Nea Dimokratia, since the election law does not allow collaborations. Mr. Michelakis, press representative of Nea Dimokratia, rejected – very carefully - this option, however without excluding a future collaboration “In the most difficult crisis that Greece has faced, Nea Dimokratia must lead the country, inspiring society with its policies. LAOS is another party that is related to a pro-memorandum stance. Nea Dimokratia is aiming for Greece to exit the Memorandum”.

Nea Dimokratia is projecting the idea that i aims to unify the center-right voters and to try to “remove” them from the arms of other right-wing parties such as LAOS. There are talks about Mr.Voridis, the MP from LAOS, being included in the Nea Dimokratia list.

These talks will remain open since ND thinks that elections are close. They do not trust Mr.Papandreou and think the internal quarrels of PASOK show that the governement is not stable. And of course they believe that should the PM go to elections ND will be the top party in votes.

Dora Bakoyianni is the only one remaining out of this conversation since she is a persona non grata for Nea Dimokratia. From her side, comments from members of her party say that ND is the underdog of Syriza.
