Enough with the Cassandras!

Greece is in a constant state of alert due to the multifaceted problem that the debt has cause, and due to the cacophony in the EU, the Prime Minister George Papandreou said at the cabinet meeting according to sources.

Mr.Papandreou referred to the climate that has been created around the problem of the debt, judging those who reproduce scenarios of danger and stating that when the loan contract for the 110 billion euros was signed, there was the scenario of debt, and today there is the scenario of the restructuring of the debt.

The PM mentioned that it would be almost criminal for all these scenarios and fears to influence the government in dealing with the crisis. Most parties, media outlets and analysts choose the role of Cassandra and interfere to serve vested interests. The Prime Minister said that during the past year many things have happened that even the most optimistic of us wouldn’t have dreamed of. What we should care about is the work that needs to be done.

Expressing one's opinion is free said the PM, but the government does not have the luxury to bother with all these scenarios. What interests us on a daily basis is how to deal with the suituation and make the necessary changes. Referring to the “map” that he presented before Easter, he said that «a year ago we saved Greece from bankruptcy; with the plan we proposed to Parliament we will take the country out of debt”
