Problems in transportation due to the 24-hour strike

New suffering for passengers this Wednesday due to the 24-hour strike by GSEE and ADEDY, partly attended by workers in transportation. SOC personnel, professors, bank and public hospital employees, as well as personnel from OTA and the media, will also take part.

The rally of the two unions will take place at 11am in Pedion tou Areos, followed by a march toward parliament. At 10am PAME supporters will gather in Omonoia.

Traveling on public transport will be difficult as OSE and suburban trains will remain docked. Metro workers will carry out a 3-hour work stoppage from the start of the shift until 8am.

Employees at blue buses will stop from the start of their shift until 9am and from 9pm until shift's end. Their ISAP colleagues will carry out their stoppage from the start of their shift until 10am and from 4pm until shift's end.

There will also be a 24-hour strike by port workers so there will be no boat travel.

The two Greek airlines announced serious program alterations with tens of flight cancellations, due to the work stoppage of the Air Traffic Controllers from 12pm to 4pm.

The Governing Council of the Union of Journalists of Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA) decided upon a 24-hour strike (6am on Wednesday, May 11 until 6am on Thursday, May 12) in all media.
