Tina's innuendos

Innuendos about all those who criticized the policies of the Ministry of the Environment came today right from the horse’s mouth, Minister Birbili herself, during the swearing in of the new Minister Mr. Papakostantinou.

“In a period of crisis, there are political moves that are actually hurting the environment in the name of a so-called growth. This is a way to avoid reality and it is breathing life back into an old model” she said

The former minister referred to her disagreements with Mr.Papakostantinou as to unauthorized construction, noting that she understands the State needs money but  that she couldn’t reward those that proceeded with unauthorized constructions as opposed to those that respected the law.

”We were at opposite ends with Mr.Papakostantinou and I asked him to consider the issue not from an accounting point angle but from an environmental one”

Mr.Papakostantinou hailed the work of Mrs Birbili, saying she was the best choice for the new ministry. He also said he will bring his own signature style to the ministry, although he carries the stigma of being “accounting-oriented” due to his former position.
