Elsa Papadimitriou FOR the Mid-term plan

The first yes to the Mid-term plan outside of PASOK became a reality through the lips of ND MP Elsa Papadimitriou, who has clarified that she will be voting for the Mid-Term plan, saying that “I hope the government does not fail me”.

The first yes to the Mid-term plan outside of PASOK became a reality through the lips of ND MP Elsa Papadimitriou, who has clarified that she will be voting for the Mid-Term plan, saying that “I hope the government does not fail me”.

The MP has mentioned that the NO can’t be part of a “yes but” and that simply stating PRESENT is an act of Pontius Pilatus.

Mrs Papadimitriou is positive she will be expelled from Nea Dimokratia but said that “as an independent MP, I will try to deal with all the difficulties”.

Mr.Samaras has raised an issue of being aligned with the official position of the party. In his speech in reference to the Mid-Term plan, he reaffirmed that he won’t give his consensus to the plan, saying it is a dead end.

Mrs Elsa Papadimitriou has shown in previous statements that she does plan to go against the position of her party when she referred to the national interest being above the party’s interest.

ND’s stance

“She has chosen to leave” was the comment of a high-ranking official from ND after Elsa Papadimitriou's speech, in which she mentioned she will be voting for the Mid-Term plan.

The next step is a formal letter from Antonis Samaras that will formally announce the removal of Elsa Papadimitriou from his parliamentary group, since there has been a warning that any partisan would be removed from the party. Nea Dimokratia will vote against the implementation law on Thursday but will vote for some of the article that agree with the party’s proposals.
