“We will not go on holiday this year”!

Due to financial setbacks and the high prices of plane and boat tickets, six out of ten Greeks will not be able to enjoy their summer vacation this year.

This is what Gianna Karantinaki, the president of the Working Consumers’ Union under the GSEE umbrella union, said, thus presenting the actual reality.

Mrs Karantinaki asked the travel agencies to reduce ticket prices so that Greek families can manage to spend their holiday time in destinations they wish to visit. 

She added that the main goal of the Union will be to make sure that low paid employees as well as pensioners will be the ones to go on vacation.

According to latest figures, this summer there is a 40% passenger traffic decrease.
