As minister Papakonstantinou said during his first press conference, before the privatization of the PPC decisions on the opening of the lignite market to third parties and the sale of the PPC’s units will take place. The Minister ruled out the possibility of opening up new lignite mines besides the one in Vevi.
He was of the opinion that the best solution is not selling electricity rates through the ASE, while he also characterized as interesting the solution for the introductioon of the strategic investor in the Company and the sale of subsidiaries, without provideng any further details on the matter.
He hastened, however, to state that “the sale of the PPC units is not identical to privatization, but they are related”.
