Temperatures will reach 39 degrees Celsius

A slight rise in temperature is expected to occur tomorrow, Friday the 15th of July 2011. In continental Greece, the temperatures will reach 38 and in some cases, 39 degrees Celsius. An attenuation of northern winds will occur in the Aegean.

In Attica, the weather will be cloudy. Winds will blow north-northeasterly, 3 to 5 on the Beaufort scale. Temperatures will range from 26 to 37 degrees.

In Thessaloniki, the weather will generally be mild. Localized cloud is expected in the afternoon hours. Southerly winds will reach 4 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 23 to 36 degrees Celsius.

In Macedonia and Thrace the weather will generally be mild. Afternoon clouds are also expected. There will be variable wind speeds of up to 4 Beaufort from the northeast. Temperatures will range between 19 and 39 degrees.

In the Ionian islands, Epirus, Western Central Greece and western Peloponnese, the weather will generally be cloudy. Clouds will develop in the mainland in the afternoon. Winds will range between 3 Beaufort in the western part of the Ionian sea and 4 to 5 Beaufort locally. Temperatures will vary between 20 and 37 degrees.

In Thessaly, the eastern mainland, Euboia and eastern Peloponnese, skies will be clear. Localized cloud is expected in Thessaly during afternoon hours. Winds will be variable between 3 to 4 Beaufort and 5 to 6 in the east. Temperatures will vary from 20 to 38 degrees Celsius, even reaching 39C.

In the Cyclades and Crete, the weather will be cloudy. Winds will blow from the north, reaching 6 Beaufort. Temperatures will range  between 24 and 32 degrees Celsius.

In the eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese, the weather will be cloudy. The winds will be northwesterly up to 6 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 24 to 35 degrees Celsius.
