People should be cautious because of the extreme heat

The temperature is expected to reach 42C on Tuesday and Wednesday in a lot of regions, increasing the citizens’ discomfort. Experts suggest keeping calm and abiding by some basic rules for the effective handling of the first major heat wave of this summer that will last until Wednesday. A minor temperature drop on Thursday and light northern winds will bring some relief.

Tuesday

Weather: generally mild with locally overcast skies in the northern continental regions in the afternoon.

Temperature: will slightly increase, reaching 40C in the eastern continental regions.

Winds: low, northern-northwestern at 3-5B in the high seas and locally 6 in the southeastern Aegean.
 

Wednesday

Weather: mild and warm with locally overcast skies in the continental regions and chances of transient rain on the northern mountains during midday and afternoon.

Temperature: will reach 41C in the eastern continental regions.

Winds: western at 4-6B in the western and southern regions and 3-5B in the rest of the country.
