The Federation of Unions in Civil Aviation (OSYPA) announced protests throughout August to claim payment of accrued work, which are expected to cause problems for regional airports.
Specifically, the Federation’s statement mentions that employees have remained unpaid for four months for work they have already offered during nights, excludable days and holidays, but they have been patient so as not to harm tourism. According to OSYPA however, the finance ministry has informed them that they will not be paid before the end of the year.
For this reason they decided to proceed to daily work stoppages, from August 3 to 31 from 11 pm until 7:30 am, and will refrain from their duties (24hr strike) on Sundays 7, 14, 21, 28 and on the 15th of August.
