Since two parliamentary sessions have passed, the investigating judge of the five-member Board of the Supreme Court, Vassilis Lambropoulos, considers the crime of passive corruption lapsed. Former PASOK Defense Minister, Akis Tsochatzopoulos, had been indicted on the crime by the parliamentary committee.

As for the offense of money laundering, the same source states that the investigator is of the opinion that the former minister must be tried by regular courts and not by the Special Court. The final say is now up to the five-member judicial council which will make the decision.

This will be preceded by a prosecutorial proposal tabled to the board.
