Epidaurus transformed into Richard’s “Kingdom”

All theatergoers live and breathe to see the famous actor and director Kevin Spacey perform in the ancient theatre of Epidaurus in Peloponnesus, taking the leading role. The Oscar-winning duo of American Beauty, Sam Mendes and Kevin Spacey, have indeed attracted the great attention not only of the Old Vic audeinces, but also of the Greek audience expecting to enjoy a high-profile show and a long-awaited performance.

Performances kick off tonight and will go on until July 31. Theatre officials claim that each night the seats will be filled by the gripping number of 9,000 spectators.

As for ticket sales, they have reached 27,500.

Kevin Spacey not only came to the country for the performance, but also it was in Greece that he celebrated his birthday. And as is evident, this “new” year of his has opened with excellent omens for him, since Richard III will be seen by Sir Elton John, Willem Dafoe, John Malcovich and Sir Peter Hall.
