The new scheme envisions the elimination of the ET-1 television frequency, the closure of seven regional radio stations and of an affiliated magazine related to state TV schedules.
As well, the future will see the merging of an audio-visual archives organization with the national broadcasting entity (ERT). At the same time, a digital sports channel will also be axed.
Referring to the television sector, he said that the Athens-based NET channel and the ET-3 one in Thessaloniki will continue operating normally, while the ET-1 programme will be suspended. Staff at the affected outlets will be transferred to other sectors of the ERT corporation.
