Prices decline at the Athens Stock Market

Equity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Wednesday at the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down 0.31%, standing at 908.23 points at 11:15 am local time, and turnover at 8.622 million euros.

Individual sectors indices were moving mostly downward, with the biggest gains in Chemicals, up 2.76%, Insurance, up 2.50%, and Technology, up 2.43%. The biggest losses were in Personal and Household Goods, down 1.29%, and Travel and Recreation, down 0.90%.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 0.33%, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.49%, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was down 0.22%.
Of the stocks traded, 40 were up, 29 were down, and 24 did not change.
