“70,000 fewer positions in public organisations”

Speaking to the Lausanne-based Swiss newspapers “Tribune de Geneve” and “24 Heures”, Theodoros Pagalos, mentioned the “haircut” of 70,000 job positions in public organisations.

When he was asked if it is true that the 100,000 layoffs are a reality, he said that most probably we are talking about 70,000 instead, and not in public management but in businesses.

Once again, during his interview he repeated his famous line of “we spent the money together” - apparently referring to the Greek people, too, and not the politicians alone, characteristically saying that “freelance professionals constantly tax evade”.

As a matter of fact, he disagreed with the church being exempted from the general taxation norm applying to all levels of the Greek society. Moreover, he estimated that this is not a good time for the privatization of the Public Power Corporation.
