“Negotiations with the IMF over Greece’s bailout are ongoing and there was no final agreement”, according to Reuters, based on anonymous IMF sources, thereby refuting reports that the Greek government’s consultations with IMF auditors have concluded.

It seems that measures and negotiations with the IMF have not been “locked”, despite the Finance Ministry’s information which stated that they had been concluded. Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos is expected to continue negotiations with the European Commission on Friday.

Additionally, a senior official from the Troika told Reuters that the 6th installment can only be disbursed “when Athens does even more to convince its lenders that it can implement reforms”.

“Without the aid, Athens may run out of cash next month, causing bankruptcy, which would in turn drag down the whole of the Eurozone into a deeper recession”, stated a member of the IMF, while a source close to the Troika stated that talks may continue next week.
