“Things are pretty serious and we have reached a dilemma : Either proceed in Europe with guardians or even slavery, or alone with our poverty” noted LAOS president George Karatzaferis after meeting the Prime Minister at the latter’s office in the House.

He added: “Europeans are demanding more and more sovereignty. I do not know who is willing to give it. Boston’s children should show responsibility”.

When asked if elections were discussed, he responded negatively, adding that elections “will result from daily happenings”.

The KKE party is asking for Greece’s exit from Europe

Greece’s exit from the EU and unilateral debt cancellation was requested by Secretary of the Hellenic Communist Party, Aleka Papariga, during her meeting with the PM in Parliament.

Mrs. Papariga stated that “leaving the euro means a national currency”.

Also, the SG of KKE stated: “The great success of the strike, especially in factories, is the best response to government policy and the EU. We are clearly opposed to the PM’s policies. I declared that to Mr. Papandreou. We are deeply opposed, unlike other parties who are fighting against him while following the same rules. We disagree with the fact that he supports capitalism so strongly, a system that has given all it can. There is no populist exit from the crisis. The people should take the overthrow into their own hands”.

A withdrawal of the bill was requested by Alexis Tsipras

A solution on a European level through the use of votes was asked of Mr. Papandreou by president of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras. According to reports, Mr. Tsipras asked the PM if he was planning on proceeding with elections and the latter replied that there is no such chance if there is no solution found to the country’s problems.

In his statements after exiting the meeting, he stated that he had requested that Mr. Papandreou respect the people and withdraw the bill. Mr. Tsipras stated that it is an insult that Mr. Papandreou had met with media moguls and publishers before political leaders.

Mr. Tsipras stated that the PM showed that he does not understand the power of the people, and thus any further discussion has no meaning.

“At this time, there are currently two Greeces: The Greece which submits to cartels and illegal trade, and the Greece of pride and dignity. The latter, I am certain, will be victorious”, stated the SYRIZA chairman.
