PASOK Minister and ND deputy minister, for the new government

The official entry of the new coalition government into the House is expected to formally take place next Friday, if Messrs. George Papandreou and Antonis Samaras reach an agreement today.

Furthermore, if during the meeting with President Karolos Papoulias, Papandreou and Samaras agree on the person to assume the mantle of Prime Minister, then the President will invite him, in order to hand him a mandate to form a new government. According to information, the general shape of the composition of the cabinet will be PASOK Ministers and Deputy Ministers from the New Democracy party.

Next Tuesday at the latest, there will be a swearing in ceremony and the new PM will then attend the House plenary on Wednesday, in order to begin his scheduled statements. The parliamentary process takes three days, and as such on midnight of next Friday, the polls will be set to see if the government has the confidence of the Parliament.
