Elections on February 19

The meeting of the economicy teams of the government and the opposition at the vice presidency on Zalokosta Street ended at 1:30am.

According to initial information, they decided on elections on February 19, having first talked about the timetables for the implementation of the October 26-27 agreement in Brussels.

Reportedly, ND representatives preferred December but after analyzing the data of the agreement, decided on a short life extension for the new government. Evangelos Venizelos supported that the best month is March. 

In this meeting, PASOK was represented by finmin Venizelos, deputy minister Sahinidis, Zannias, Plaskovitis and Christodoulou.

ND was represented by Chrysanthos Lazaridis, and the close associates of the ND president, Stamatis, Staikouras and Lazaridis.

It lasted two hours and the one that was scheduled for this morning will not take place.

At today’s Eurogroup, Greece will be represented only by Venizelos, since ND decided not to send a representative before the swearing in of the coalition government.
