“The solution is in Papandreou’s hands. There can be no further delays, so let's get this over with," said ND representative Yannis Michelakis moments ago. However, sources close to the ND headquarters appreciated that the solution has been found and it is a matter of time now before the announcement of the name is made.

Former PM Konstantinos Mitsotakis intervened in these developments and said: “The national vilification and the trivialization of the institutions of our democracy has reached its very limits. It is time to pull ourselves together; Greece does not need a puppet prime minister and the only solution is to select a strong personality with a good reputation in Europe, with international credibility and knowledge of the work required.”
