PM George Papandreou and opposition leader Antonis Samaras had a telephone conversation late last night, in which they discussed the latest developments and conditions imposed by Lucas Papademos as to whether he will agree to take over the premiership of the country.

According to information from Maximos Mansion, Papandreou urged Samaras to speak with Papademos and discuss the conditions the latter has set, which the PM has already accepted.

In his telephone conversation with Papandreou earlier, Papademos set the following conditions to take on the honorary, yet "heavily" tasked position he is being proposed for:

 1.    extension of the time limit leading to the elections
 2.    both major parties must sign the October 26 agreement
 3.    ND must take part with more than 5 members

And according to colleagues of the former UCB vice president who spoke to protothema.gr., Papademos wishes to have 2 ministers he can completely trust in the broader economy team.

These will be Vasilis Rapanos and Alekos Papadopoulos.

The same close associates of Papademos suggest that he wouldn’t mind picking other top executives from PASOK and ND for ministries in the economic circle.
