One-billion-euro aid for the National Bank of Greece

As protothema.gr is informed, the administration of the group under Apostolos Tamvakakis decided to take an additional billion euros from the well-known “Alogoskoufis package” besides the 350 million it had received in 2008 with the issuing of preferential shares.

The bank's equity will be strengthened by 150 basis points, i.e. capital adequacy will go from 9.5% to 11%. The decision will be made in a general meeting on January 26.
