Together in the votings, together in Brussels

The time of judgment for Papademos’ government and the three parties that support it is here. The Prime Minister was briefed on the demands of creditors in the meetings he had with Angela Merkel, Nicolas Sarkozy and José Manuel Barroso. They don’t just want the approval of the new loan agreement, but require the commitment of all parties in support of the government, both now and for the future.

Lucas Papademos saw George Papandreou and George Karatzaferis yesterday and today will meet with Antonis Samaras. He listened to the "complaints" of George Papandreou about ND's stance. "They behave like an oppositional co-governing party, and this cannot go on," said the president of PASOK. The president of LAOS retained his familiar stance, which supports extending the life of this government.

The crucial meeting will occur this afternoon. Since ND is ahead in the polls its attitude is critical for the Europeans. "Antonis Samaras should assume his responsibilities," said associates of the PM, who are ready to call a meeting of all three leaders under Papademos to clear things up.

The idea from Maximos Mansion that all leaders should travel to the upcoming summit in Brussels along with the PM, to show the unity of the political world and its commitment to the decisions required, is moving along the same lines; a sine qua non condition for the EU to proceed with the new loan agreement.
