According to ND sources, the leaders had an overall estimation on the critical PSI issue. They also discussed all the issues that concern the government and confirmed their support. The meeting lasted several hours because due to the in-depth analysis of all current issues.
According to information there was no issue of signatures by the leaders on a joint text by Papademos. Regarding the time of elections, ND says that nothing has changed since the leaders’ agreement. The issue of elections was raised towards the end of the meeting by Karatzaferis. As for the issue of wage cost reduction in the private sector, ND argues that they should wait for developments in the negotiation between the social partners before they take any further steps.
