Publication of the indictment against the Thessaloniki mafia

The indictment against the heads of the four criminal organizations that were accused of serial cases of extortion and usury has just been published.

Polymeris, Meletis, Karamperis and Lampakis are accused of participation and initiation of a criminal organisation, extortion and usury, joint professional and serial extortion, joint professional and serial usury, and repeated laundering of proceeds from criminal activity. SDOE chief executive Christos Papachatzis is accused of power abuse, participation in a criminal organisation and simple complicity in money laundering. 

It is worth noting that the accused had been transported earlier to the third regular investigator of the city under tight security measures, with police officers scattered at the surrounding buildings and the back door of the building where the interrogation was conducted.
