ND: “We will not support the law institutionalizing wage cuts"
ND draw “red lines” but have a plan B under the belt…
UPD:
New Democracy is planning its future stance regarding Labour issues while on Monday afternoon, the head of the party Antonis Samaras is going to meet the GSEE leadership.
On Saturday, Samaras met the Troika representatives, who insist on cuts in supplementary pensions, something that ND has said they are not willing to back.
At the same time they are reconsidering their positions and have said that they would accept 300 euros as the lowest pension limit and 1,200 in total corresponding to the main and supplementary pensions. Regarding the private sector, it looks possible that ND will accept a decrease in the 13th and 14th salaries, something they will discuss with GSEE.
In case the party’s leadership does not act according to the will of its members, then the problems will multiply and tensions will be unavoidable.
Concerning the tax rate, ND believe it has to go down, and they are negative when it comes to new taxes.
As the limits are receding, specialists admit there is a possibility that at the next EU summit, the Greek premier will present a line commonly and evenly accepted by all three parties supporting the interim government of the country.
