Koutroumanis meets with Troika again about salaries

Continuous meetings are taking place between the Troika and Minister Koutroumanis about the "bargaining" on the terms of the loan in reference to all work and salary issues.

Mr.Thomsen and Mr.Morse are currently in a meeting with the Minister and according to sources, yesterday they asked Mr Koutroumanis very strictly to implement their instructions which will even diminish the 13th and 14th salaries (Xmas and Easter bonuses).

The Troika is insisting on cuts in salaries, pensions and work benefits and that has caused the reaction of both syndicates and all other organisations such as SEV.

"These loansharks want to disrupt and demolish everything in the work environment" said the representative of GSEE Stathis Anestis, and the representative of merchants said they will be respecting the collective contracts instead of abolishing them."

"They should stop with all the demands that have no benefit whatsoever for Greeks, the economy and the market. For us. salaries are income and not the reason why there are companies closing down and unemployment is rising" said the head of GSEE Mr.Vasilis Korkides.

The Troika demanded that the new measures proposed be implemented immediately in order for us to get the 130 billion that is necessary for the country's salvation.

They have asked for the following:

- Basic salaries should drop to 751 euros

- The 13th and 14th salaries (Xmas and Easter bonus) should be abolished or at least radically decreased 

- Dismissals in DEKO and banks.

- A freeze on all collective contracts

- Abolishing the 6-month protection period that contracts allow after their immediate expiration.

- For pensions to be under one single organisation with fluctuating cuts of up to 15%.
