Meeting between Papandreou and Venizelos tomorrow morning

A meeting between PASOK president Giorgos Papandreou and the Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos will be held tomorrow morning at 11 am, following the successive telephone conversations which the two men and Health Minister Loverdos had this evening.

The feverish consultations prevailing within PASOK against the backdrop of the succession race culminated in the afternoon, 24 hours after the public announcement by the Health Minister that he will walk hand-in-and with the VP of the party as concerns its presidency.

Today's meeting was preceded by telephone conversations between Papandreou, Venizelos and Loverdos yesterday evening, as well as the meeting of the two ministers with Minister of Development Mihalis Chrysohoidis, who has not yet expressed his position on recent developments in party matters.

According to preliminary information, the talks will focus on the topics to be discussed in tomorrow’s crucial meeting of the PASOK parliamentary group.

These developments indicate that there is a possibility that a meeting of the political leaders of the coalition government is possibly going to take place on Thursday or Friday morning.
