ND is monitoring developments in the government after the departure of LAOS and the resignations of PASOK ministers.

The new landscape was examined at a meeting in the offices of Syngrou Avenue.  N.D. will retain its ministers, while it is up to the PM to proceed with a government reshuffle. At the same time the party insists that there is an urgent need for elections.

Tomorrow the party’s parliamentary group will be called to a vote on the package of measures. It remains unknown whether Mr. Samaras will raise a party discipline issue as requested by several members.

These developments, however, mean that voices are raised within the blue camp who want - even at this moment - the party to distance itself. They create pressure in that direction as the resignations of government officials belonging to PASOK are taking place, which also add to said pressure.

So far, the Trade Union Secretariat has seen the resignation of Mr. Yiannis Manolis, while Mr. Dimitris Stamatis has also declared he will not vote for the Troika package.
