By submitting the bill of law which includes the implementation laws,
the government’s obligations with the creditors will be met in order for Greece to get the green light to start the countdown for the next installment, the new loan program and the completion of the PSI
From then onwards, in respect to Greece, the only thing that remains is for the bill to pass.
This afternoon, the Cabinet will meet for the second time in a week to discuss the government’s next moves. Specifically, according to the PM’s agenda, he will proceed with specific announcements and Finance Minister Ev. Venizelos will update the cabinet on the “necessary actions to be carried out within the framework of the new economic program and the implementation of the October 26th summit decisions”.
The PM’s colleagues expressed their optimism that the obstacles raised by some partners have almost been overcome. The climate became even better after the fifteen-minute teleconference between Mr. Papademos and his counterparts in Germany and Italy, while Mr. Sarkozy’s statements last night included mention of an agreement during the Eurogroup on Monday.
After the video conference the PM’s office issued a statement saying that “the discussion was held in a constructive atmosphere and the three participants expect that the Eurogroup meeting will result in decisions for Greece”.
