Secret meeting about the succession

At least twenty MPs, deputy secretaries and deputy ministers of the government gathered earlier this evening at a central Athens hotel to discuss the succession in PASOK and examine whether to maintain a common stance concerning their candidate of choice.

This was an initiative by the so called "movement of the seven", consisting of deputy ministers Philip Sachinidis and Socratis Ksinidis and vice ministers Panos Moraitis, Yiannis Drivelegas, Manolis Othonas, Markos Bolaris and George Petalotis.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Katerina Perlepe, Ilias Karanikas, Nikos Tsonis, Vasilios Gioumatzidis, Nikos Zoidis, Eleni Tsaousi and Thanassis Papadopoulos.

According to information, this is the first of a few meetings that will follow, in order for the members to appear as a single group in the succession race.
