"Whom is he speaking for? This is not the first time I get the impression that they are serving specific business interests through parliamentary interventions", Finance minister Evangelos Venizelos stated a few minutes ago in parliament, saying that SYRIZA president Alexis Tsipras serves specific business interests.
"Whom is he speaking for? This is not the first time I get the
impression that they are serving specific business interests through
parliamentary interventions", Finance minister Evangelos Venizelos
stated a few minutes ago in parliament, saying that SYRIZA president
Alexis Tsipras serves specific business interests.
When Tsipras took to the podium to respond to Venizelos, the conflict between the two men was taken to extremes. "Your vision is to co-govern with Antonis Samaras, you want to be the first mate", the SYRIZA president accused the minister of Finance.
"Under different circumstances, and if I didn’t have the feeling that you are in a disorderly situation, I would cite a proverb that comes to the mind of the Greek people: The pot called the kettle black! We are directly telling you that you are playing the role of the referee, you are the ones supporting interrelationships, not us", Tsipras continued.
"What will the social reality be in the country in 2020? How will the country borrow from the markets in 2020, with a debt at 120% of the GDP, when the debt of the country when it entered the memoranda was at 115% of the GDP and the country could not secure its international lending?", Tsipras wondered, and estimated that "this is going to be a very difficult summer."
"Tell the bankers that the party is over. Which homeland is being saved? The one that the people will not be able to to live in with dignity?" Tsipras said.
"If Goldman Sachs were an insurance fund, you would have included it in the haircut" the leader of Synaspismos continued his attack to the minister of Finance.

Answering back, Venizelos accused Tsipras that "your belief that you can lead the country to default, to the drachma, to a total crash, so that you can organize your own political presence after that crash, is much deeper."
Speaking to Tsipras, Venizelos said "when you talk about interrelationships you should know that these are pursued by those who create impressions through the process of parliamentary scrutiny." And he accused the president of Synaspismos that "pension funds that have not participated in the haircut brought on a political-unionist misery. Parties, including SYRIZA, lobbied to make the decisions harmful to the Funds and the nation."
