The provision for semi-open spaces is removed

The government has decided to withdraw the provision whereby the semi-open spaces that have been declared and arranged are a tax record.

"The provisions for the calculation and the height of underground spaces, lofts and attics as tax records, arranged through law No 4014/2011, are removed from the bill of the ministry of Development, as they will be subject to the tax dialogue carried out at the ministry of Finance and the issue of the implementation of the National Tax System."

The withdrawal of the provision was announced by deputy Finance minister Pantelis Economou on Mega channel. Economou’s rationale is that those who declared and paid to settle their semi-open spaces should not pay twice for  them. "The state appears unreliable on the issue of semi-open spaces, although the setting is correct," Economou tried self-criticism.

Referring to the taxation of property he said the plan is to merge the dozens of charges in two taxes, one for the municipality and one for the State, considering that there will be a slight decrease from the tens of taxes that burden properties today.

He also said that the PPC hike ends at the end of the year and noted that the objective values ​​will be eliminated as to the way they are today.

"Likewise, the provisions that have been included in the same bill on issues regarding the Gaming Control Board are removed, prior to public consultation with stakeholders, before the submission of the provisions in parliament," the Finance ministry said.

According to the announcement, "the primary concern in these critical moments for the country is a convergence of views into a single, simple, stable and fair taxation system. Therefore, the ministry of Finance is inviting ND to return to the debate on the new tax system that will be concluded in the coming days."
