Natasa Karamanlis at Ippokrateio

Three months after completion of her specialization as a surgeon and the "farewell" to the First Surgical Clinic of "Laiko" University Hospital, Natasa Karamanlis is once again at her familiar university places.

Continuing her postgraduate studies on Breast Surgery, Karamanlis joined the scientific staff of the Breast Unit of the First Surgical Clinic at University Hospital of "Ippokratio".

Under the direction of Yiorgos Zografos, the professor of the Athens Medical School, the clinic claims the title of one of the three best Breast Units in Athens, both for its personnel as well as its technological equipment. Zografos, an accomplished scientist, first met with Karamanlis on December 23, 2011, also at Ippokrateio. He was one of three examiners in the oral examinations of the 46 year-old surgeon to obtain her specialisation title.

Karamanlis comes in twice a week to the Breast Unit of Ippocrateio, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as a visiting surgeon to attend the training session the clinic offers to specialists. She takes part in the clinical work of the Unit by examining patients.

Karamanlis is a scientific partner at a large Gynecological Embryological Centre in Chalandri. She has joined the Department of Gynecology and performs tests such as mammography, cell tests, etc. The director of the Centre is Thanos Paraschos, an obstetrician, who is associated with Karamanlis with a "special" relationship, as he was the obstetrician with the help of whom the young student and wife of the then leader of ND gave birth to her two children, about 8 years ago.
