Spirits are running high among PASOK and ND because of the Akis Tsochatzopoulos case, a short while ahead of the elections. ND accuses Venizelos, whom they characterize as the main Tsochatzopoulos advocate in the notorious scandal with the TOR-M1. PASOK answers that this is political obscenity and attacks Defense minister, Demetris Avramopoulos.

ND spokesman Giannis Michelakis accuses Venizelos, saying that in 2010 he revised the submarine agreement, accepting even harsher conditions but without safeguarding their timely submission.
PASOK’s problem on the other hand is the fact that ND is trying to connect scandals with people overseeing facts and circumstances, underlining that if the present evidence on this case existed back in 2005, everybody's position would have been different.
Moreover, all current evidence exists thanks to the investigative committee formed by PASOK in 2011 especially for the submarine case.
The fact that ND is trying to connect PASOK both with this scandal and the strenuous effort to save the shipyards in 2010, infuriates PASOK.
Apparently, Michelakis’ statement suggests that ND has not followed the law regarding the shipyards and submarines since 2011 and to this day.

Thus, current Defense minister Demetris Avramopoulos looks as if he has been following party orders that deviate from governmental decisions and state laws, putting in danger the huge amounts of money paid by the Greek state\ and the shipping industry, as well as thousands of employment positions.
“This is a matter of great importance; the premier has to get on it right away and Avramopoulos should come forward and explain himself. Nobody can play cheap party games with National Security and the jobs of thousands of people”, said a PASOK spokesperson.
