Venizelos wants a PM from the Left

The situation has now become clear for PASOK. The people gave a mandate to the Left parties to negotiate the memorandum, so the leadership of the party agreed to give a vote of confidence, which is what Evangelos Venizelos will tell Alexis Tsipras when they meet.

The PASOK president sees an urgent need to form a government. "It's better to ask to change the memorandum than to let the country collapse," said his colleagues, as well as that Alex Tsipras and Fotis Kouvelis have the first word about the premiership, although there are chances of electing another member from these parties, such as Yiannis Dragasakis.

But it is certain that the next prime minister should be from the anti-memorandum block, which from now on should assume the responsibility of the discussions with our lenders. PASOK sees the absence of government as the greatest enemy of the country.

The next scenario is re-elections, which is why PASOK wants to avoid them and are ready to denounce the Left if it does not assume the responsibilities allocated to it by the election result, saying that "SYRIZA and the Democratic Left should realize that they are no longer the opposition."
