Venizelos appeared “moderately optimistic” and attacked SYRIZA

Speaking to the parliamentary candidates, Venizelos showed some optimism but attacked SYRIZA, believing they are responsible for the unpleasant developments. In particular, he noted that whoever drags the country to elections will find PASOK opposite them. “If they want new polls we will play based on the optimum conditions”.

He, too, said PASOK is in agreement with ND and DIMAR but when “in good faith I suggested to SYRIZA the formation of a government of the Left, they refused to take the initiative”.

Moreover, Venizelos stressed that each day that goes by - without a result - is a mistake.

Additionally, he said to his own people that the party must re-organized without compromise, taboos or unnecessary loads.

He called uponthe young people of the party to come forward and support this new step of PASOK, pinpointing the need to make it a party of the people, a party that will voice the European social democracy and development, and will be able to communicate with other powers on equal terms.
