Letters to the president of the Inspection Committee were sent by the interim PM, Panagiotis Pikrammenos, seeking a prompt resolution to the cases pending the supply of materials (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, etc), that are absolutely necessary for the operation of public hospitals.
In a newer letter on Thusrday, Mr. Pikrammenos returns to the “major issue of the cash money orders for supply” of such material, while noting to Mr. Karavokiris the dangers a delayed solution entails.
“Compelling reasons of public interest, which relate to the protection of public health, require the immediate resolution of this issue”, estimates the PM, in order, as he states, “to avoid endangering human lives and ultimately prevent unexpected events such as the deaths of patients”.
Mr. Pikrammenos also begs the Committee President to consider that the present government has undertaken the task as required under the Constitution and has borne a heavy burden, and it is required to carry on despite the difficulties, and that the country is in an extended election period.
Therefore, it concludes that “the urgent resolution of pending cases of hospital supplies by your Court is pressing”.
