Pavlopoulos: "Everything happened so fast, that's why I did not react"

After intense criticism leveled against him because during Elias Kasidiaris’ attack against Rena Dourou and Liana Kanelli he did not react, MP candidate for ND Prokopis Pavlopoulos spoke on the incident.

On Thursday afternoon, Mr. Pavlopoulos was a guest on a NET television show and when he was questioned, he replied that: “Firstly, it was not just me who stood still; Mrs. Dourou and several others did the same. I must explain to you that these things happened very quickly. Secondly, I would like to emphasize that this whole thing was on air and if anyone tried to control this man, then the whole studio would have turned into a massive fight which, apart from Greece, would be broadcast even farther with graver political repercussions on the political climate as it stands now”.

“In essence, we would fan the flames of any reaction by Mr. Kasidiaris. This should not have happened anyway, because it would have aided his purpose”.

The candidate MP from ND noted that after what happened, no one is entitled on June 17th to say that they do not know the mindset of the Golden Dawn.

“Mr. Kasidiaris is not just another member of his party, but the Golden Dawn spokesman. This was a dress rehearsal for what might happen in the House”, stated Mr. Pavlopoulos.
