The government is feverishly preparing for the meetings of the next few days, which will lay the foundations for the economic development of the country, the opportunity to renegotiate the memorandum and the ability of Greece to benefit from the significant changes in the Eurozone economic policy that resulted from the last summit in Brussels.
The statement by Development Minister Kostis Hatzidakis is indicative of the government’s expectations. He said that under conditions the decisions of the EU summit could be useful for our country. But to reap benefits Greece would have to prove its credibility to its partners: "At a later stage we could ask for a review our own problem."
Given that in the next few days, perhaps even hours, the Troika are arriving in Athens, the prime minister had a meeting with the economic team and leading ministers in the last 24 hours.
Theoretically, the Troika will examine the progress of measures and its report will judge the attitude of our lenders. However, talking to Kathimerini, a member of the Executive Council of ECB, Jörg Asmussen, pointed out that the Troika are willing to discuss changes in aspects of the implemented policy under the condition they will not upset the final goals.
He added that if the viability of the Greek debt is once again found at a difficult point, then "we should do everything to ensure that the debt is sustainable and Greece will be able to return to the markets."
A broad meeting was held on Saturday afternoon with the participation of Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras, Deputy Finance Minister Christos Staikouras, State Minister Dimitris Stamatis and adviser to the prime minister Kostas Bouras.

It was preceded by Samaras’ meeting with Defense Minister Panos Panayiotopoulos, while during the day he will also meet with Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos.
These meetings and contacts with representatives of lenders will finalize the content of the programmatic statements in parliament.
