In an interview on CNBC channel, deputy director of the IMF David Lipton expressed his highly positive estimates about Greece's efforts to achieve the targets of its fiscal adjustment program.

Lipton did not hesitate to emphasize the "dedication of the government to the commitments of Greece. We believe that the prime minister and the Minister of finance are determined to find the right course towards fiscal consolidation and we are trying to help."

"I'm optimistic in the sense that I think the Greeks are working hard; they want to remain in the Eurozone, they want to rebuild their country."

Regarding ECB’s actions, Lipton said that the ideas of president M. Draghi, on how the ECB can support the Eurozone are theoretically on target.

As for the global economy, he said that "Europe needs to ensure it can dispel doubts about the viability of the euro. Recovery is still fragile and the biggest risk is the financial precipice in the U.S. and the debt problems in the EU."
