Urgent Eurogroup about Greece next Wednesday

European economic and political leaders are thinking of an urgent Eurogroup meeting, probably next Wednesday, especially on the Greek issue, as developments in negotiations between the Greek government and its lenders have not yet allowed the Troika to complete its report on Greece.

Thus, they postponed the Euro Working Group that was scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, to give the Troika more time to complete the report.

Today's meeting of the technical teams of the Euro Working Group mainly dealt with the issue of the funding gap for Greece until 2016 and the ways in which this can be remedied.

The agenda also includes topics of enhancement in the supervision and implementation of the memorandum and the changes in operating conditions of the special account held at the Bank of Greece for the repayment of the public debt.

The decision to resume the meeting of the Euro Working Group on Monday was made to give time to Greece as well to come up with the approval of the three government partners on the compromise proposal on labour issues, as it is characterized by the Troika.

Consultations will restart once the Troika reach their final conclusions about the course of the Greek program.
