"We, as Greece, did what we had to do. Every initiative on our part has finished. Now the ball is in Europe’s court," PM Antonis Samaras said after the meeting at the Development ministry, referring to the disagreement between the IMF and the Eurozone regarding the Greek debt.
He appeared optimistic about the approval and payment of the tranche of 31.5 billion euros. "We will have a very positive development in terms of the tranche," he said, arguing that the government is interested in how much money we will get so that it can complete the recapitalization of banks and then "correct a great injustice by paying the state's debts to citizens. We do not want a dishonest state."
Samaras stressed that attracting foreign investment and the creation of the modern Greek productive development model have already begun, and that the objective of the government is to proceed to the new page called recovery and growth.
As he argued, this is the only way to restore optimism in the Greek people and create jobs for young people. "Greece has a vision and a plan for the rebirth and the future of its children," he added.
