Reportedly he has a flare gun and is holding the director hostage, seeking to recover his money which, as he claims, has been illegally withheld.
Sources say that it is not the first time this man has been of concern to the Service as he has economic differences with the Fund.
Police negotiators are on the spot in order to persuade him not to carry out his threat. For a while now the man has been talking with the director of the Fund without tension and for now the negotiations appear to be progressing smoothly.
The area around the streets of Ermou and Karolou Diehl in Thessaloniki has been blocked by the police as a preventive measure, but right now things seem to be quiet.
