PASOK anticipates “white smoke” for the tranche

PASOK believes there will be "white smoke" on Monday for Greece, but with some reservations. They see that the choices of Antonis Samaras and Yannis Stournaras provided an opportunity for Greece’s partners to delay things and now extort with additional terms. But they will not speak publicly until the resolution of this issue because, as they say, even a bad solution is better than no solution.

 

But they are also not hiding their anger at SYRIZA’s attitude and believe that it subordinates everything to its own benefit. It is a front that will open immediately after the decision about the debt and the next tranche. But it should be considered certain that Evangelos Venizelos will send the ball in Alexis Tsipras’ court.

 

Concerning the reshuffle, the president’s ban is still in effect. While members refuse to engage in conversations, it is believed that 5 persons are in the lead: Yannis Maniatis, Paris Koukoulopoulos, Philippos Sachinidis, Evi Christophilopoulou and Thanos Moraitis. They belong to the younger generation of members, but they have ministerial tenures behind them, a skill that is considered critical for the specific situation. With this in mind, Kostas Kartalis might return to a government role, while Odysseas Konstantinopoulos and Nikos Androulakis are the names discussed more from the newcomers’ side.

 

Those of the above that will not get into the government are very likely to participate in the coordinating body the three leaders decided to form in order to support the tri-party government, along with Christos Protopapas, PASOK’s director of documentation.
