Snowfall from Sunday

Gradual weather improvement is expected for the greater part of Greece over the weekend, after the fierce wave of bad weather that has hit the country in the last two days. The weather is expected to weaken by tomorrow for a few hours, but the temperature will drop significantly and rainfall will continue, especially in the west, the north and the eastern Aegean.

The first snow in the mountainous areas of Northwestern Greece is expected from Sunday, and next week the situation will worsen, with frost prevailing in the north.

Saturday

Temperature: 8-17C in northern Greece, 12-20C in western Greece, 8-19C in central Greece, 15-21C in the rest of the continental areas, 12-18C in the northern Aegean and 16-22C in the Aegean and Crete.

Winds: southern moderate to strong in the Aegean, stormy in the eastern seas and moderate northwestern in the Ionian.

Αttica

Weather: local rain or storms in the morning with improvement at midday.

Temperature: will reach 19C.

Winds: variable moderate.

Thessaloniki

Weather: cloudy, locally increased during morning and midday, with chances of temporary rainfall.

Temperature: will reach 17C.

Winds: southern almost moderate.

Sunday

Weather: overcast with rainfall and storms in the west and the eastern Aegean, initially strong first in the northwest and then in the rest of the regions. Rainfall and storms are expected for the rest of Greece. Snowfall is expected in the northern and central mountain regions.

Winds: southern 4-7B in the Aegean.

Temperature: will not change significantly.
